Things to do in East Coast Malaysia - Cherating

First time in my lifetime I saw turtle laid eggs in Cherating - Live!!  Unfortunately, we can light up too bright in the whole process, taking photos and video are not easy.

If you are planning to experience yourselves, there are several things you might want to be aware of.  Turtles lay eggs in seasonal, months of August and September have the most according to the guide.  For more information, you may visit http://tourism.terengganu.gov.my/nature/marang/turtle_sanctuary.htm.  However, you have be prepared that this is to watch nature and turtles lay eggs during night time, you may have to wait at the hotel lobby until mid night before the tour guide found a turtle on the beach ready to lay eggs.

The good advise is to inform your hotel on duty staffs to arrange a tour guide for you, then you can go ahead to sleep early in your room, when the tour guide confirmed there is a turtle laying eggs, he will inform the hotel staff and you will get a wake up call to be prepared your tour with the tour guide.

You may have a chance to see baby turtle, those baby turtles were hatched in turtle sanctuary.  We touch, hold and even out them back to the see.  Very memorable experience.
Nick was holding two baby turtles.

Turtle eggs - fresh

After the mummy turtle laid the eggs and back to the sea, the eggs will be dug up carefully and will be sent to the turtle sanctuary.

You can enjoy the moment of sunrise from the sea level at East Coast Malaysia.

Holiday Shooting at Cherating

Cherating is located at East Coast Malaysia.  Along the coaster road, there are lot of beautiful resorts at the seaside.  We had a family vacation in one of the resort there - Impiana Cherating.

Coconut trees at the seaside.
One credit to Impiana Cherating Resort is that all the rooms are facing the sea.

Immature coconuts
Immature coconuts can be found under the coconut trees everywhere.  May be the wind is too strong at the seaside.

Sea shell
Very nice beach

Jelly fish on the beach

A jelly fish was found on the beach during low tide.

Crab was resting on the beach

Hi, baby... I am awake now!!

Crabs are around on the beach during low tide.  Really fun to play with them.

The swing is fixed in a very nice location.
Another activity - climbing to the tree
Kampung (Village) house
This is fun, especially with kids.

Yellow coconuts

Full of coconuts on the coconut trees.

Will share more exited shots with you in the next post, beautiful sunrise and turtle lay eggs (hope I can manage the video clip to be edited).

Tour within Nature for Rafflesia

Rafflesia is the largest flower in the world. We thought rafflesia only can be found in East Malaysia until recently I were told that it is found in the jungle of Perak.

Last week, I had an opportunity to join an adventure tour organized by MyTravelKaki, the member of BNI Leverage Chapter. It was an exciting trip.

We drove all the way from Kuala Lumpur to the parking area of Gua Tempurung, another tourist attraction, the scenery around this area is gorgeous. There is a lake in front of the car park, the water is still and the reflection is clear. We were waiting for the transport from the tour guide.

The tourist guide spent an hour drive to take 9 of us up to a village called Ulu Geroh. The Orang Asli there brought us into the jungle, we hiked in the jungle for about an hour to reach the rafflesia flower.
